Southwestern Michigan College, located in Dowagiac, Michigan, USA, was founded in 1964 as a public community college offering associate degree and certificate programs.SMC has two campuses, Dowagiac and Niles, and offers more than 40 academic and vocational programs in business, nursing, engineering technology, robotics, welding, and more. The college partners with Ferris State University and Michigan State University to offer transfer and joint degree opportunities.With three apartment-style residence hall buildings, SMC is one of the few two-year colleges in Michigan to offer on-campus housing.Campus life is rich and varied, with a student activity center, gymnasium and several student organizations.
