Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College is a public community and technical college located in Mount Gay, West Virginia, USA, and is part of the West Virginia Community & Technical College System. The college was established in 1971 as a branch campus of Marshall University in Logan and Williamson, and has since grown into a multi-campus institution serving six counties: Boone, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, and Wyoming. SWVCTC offers 28 associate degrees, 12 certificate programs, and 13 skill training programs, covering fields such as welding technology, surgical technology, nursing, electrical engineering, and cosmetology management, aiming to provide students with opportunities for employment readiness or further education. The school has also established partnerships with West Virginia University (WVU) and West Virginia State University (WVSU), offering 2+2 credit transfer agreements to facilitate a smooth transition to a four-year university. Additionally, SWVCTC provides online courses to accommodate flexible learning for students.
