Richmond Community College (Hamlet, North Carolina) was founded in 1964. It is a public community college with a main campus of about 160 acres and branches in Laurinburg and Rockingham. It serves Richmond and Scotland counties, with a total of about 10,000 students (including continuing education). It offers more than 60 associate degrees, liberal arts/science degrees and professional certificates, including nursing, welding, industrial technology, etc. The student-teacher ratio is about 11:1, and the school team is the "Panthers".
