Overview

New England Conservatory of Music, referred to as NEC, was founded in 1867 and is located in Boston, USA. It is one of the oldest independent music schools in the United States. The school provides music education from undergraduate to doctoral levels, with majors covering classical performance, composition, jazz, contemporary music art, etc. NEC has more than 500 outstanding teachers from the world stage, and students participate in more than 800 performances each year. Its main building, Jordan Hall, is the only music school performance venue in the United States listed as a national historic landmark, with excellent acoustics. NEC also cooperates with Harvard University and Tufts University to offer a five-year dual degree program, dedicated to cultivating musical talents with artistry, innovation and social influence.
